Snap & Share Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Mecca Production (“we,” “our,” or “us”) handles data when you use the Snap & Share Chrome extension (“Extension”). Snap & Share captures screenshots that you choose, lets you annotate them, and saves them to your Google Drive.

Summary:

  • We do not run our own backend server for Snap & Share user content.
  • We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising.
  • Data is processed locally in your browser and with Google APIs that you authorize.

1. Information We Handle

1.1 Content you choose to capture

  • Selected-area screenshots and full-page screenshots.
  • Annotations you add in the editor (text, highlights, blur, arrows, crop results, etc.).
  • File settings you choose, such as file name and image format (PNG/JPG).

1.2 Web page context

  • The source page URL associated with a clip (stored for clip-history context in the Extension).

1.3 Google account and Drive-related data

  • OAuth access tokens are obtained via chrome.identity to call Google APIs; your Google password is not provided to the Extension.
  • Google Drive folder metadata you select (folder ID and folder name).
  • Drive file metadata returned by Google after upload, such as file ID, name, created time, thumbnail link, and share/download links.

1.4 Extension local storage data

Snap & Share stores data in chrome.storage.local, including:

  • Default save folder.
  • Recent folders list (up to 10 entries).
  • Clip history (up to 100 entries), including metadata and local thumbnail previews.
  • Last generated share link.
  • Temporary capture drafts needed to move an image from capture flow into the editor.

1.5 Data we do not collect

  • No third-party analytics or advertising trackers are integrated in this Extension.
  • No payment card data is collected.
  • No unrelated browsing history collection or background surveillance is performed.

2. How We Use Information

  • To capture, annotate, and upload your selected content to your Google Drive.
  • To show clip history and quick actions (copy/open) inside the Extension UI.
  • To remember your folder choices and other local preferences.
  • To authenticate with Google and perform the Drive actions you request.

We use data only for the core, user-facing functionality of Snap & Share as described in the Chrome Web Store listing and in-product UI.

3. When Information Is Shared

Snap & Share shares data only in the following situations:

  • With Google APIs you authorize: to authenticate and perform Google Drive operations (for example: folder listing, file upload, link/permission creation).
  • Via links you choose to use: if link sharing is enabled for a file, people with the link may be able to access that file according to your Google account/admin policy.
  • Legal or business events: if required by law, legal process, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We do not sell data and do not transfer user data to data brokers or advertising platforms.

4. Data Retention

  • Local clip history is retained in your browser until you clear it or remove the Extension.
  • Recent folders and preferences remain until changed, cleared, or the Extension is removed.
  • Temporary draft data is intended to be short-lived and is cleared when no longer needed by the workflow.
  • Files uploaded to Google Drive remain under your Google account until you delete them (or your administrator/policies remove them).

5. Security

  • Network communication to Google services is performed over HTTPS.
  • OAuth token handling uses Chrome Identity APIs and token revocation/removal on sign-out flow.
  • Extension local data is stored in your browser profile (chrome.storage.local); protect your device and browser profile with appropriate access controls.

6. Your Choices and Controls

  • Sign in or sign out from Google at any time in the Extension popup.
  • Choose and change your default Google Drive folder.
  • Clear clip history from the popup.
  • Remove the Extension to delete extension-managed local storage data.
  • Manage or revoke app access in your Google account permissions page: myaccount.google.com/permissions.

7. International Processing

Because Snap & Share relies on Google services, data may be processed by Google on infrastructure in different countries, subject to Google’s own terms and privacy commitments.

8. Children’s Privacy

Snap & Share is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly design this Extension to collect personal data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material updates will be reflected by changing the “Last updated” date on this page and, where appropriate, by providing additional notice. If we materially change how Snap & Share accesses, uses, stores, or shares Google user data, we will provide notice and request consent where required before that new use takes effect.

10. Limited Use Disclosures

Snap & Share’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Snap & Share also complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy and uses personal or sensitive user data only to provide and improve user-facing features for the extension’s single purpose.
